this is shown in NX3 documentation,
Does that mean the models are somewhere in the cast libraries? if so where?

Not necessaily. Often the images are selected based on their appearance alone or the fact that they represent some aspect of the section of the documentation that they are fronting, nothing more.

There are a lot of sample files distributed with NX containing lots of different things. Few if any of these could realistically represent anyone's product design because that would impinge on their intellectual property. Many of the files and examples given are useful though and they aren't all just in the CAST directories.

For the above we just have to trust that the administrators of these websites have sourced their data responsibly.
A warning though. If you have any problems UG may play up and refuse to work with that data, perhaps not immediately but eventually.

Many tooling and equipment manufacturers provide their own libraries usually via their websites I have never had any trouble with any of these.
