Hi all,
I've got a customer with ammonia refrigeration piping installed circa 1977. I'm trying to find out if there was a requirement in the 1974 edition of B31.5 that required sch.80 pipe for carbon steel liquid lines smaller than 2" NPS in refrigerant group B2.
I've got B31.5 editions from 2000 to 2006, and the relavent section in those editions is 505.1.1 Additional Limitations for Carbon Steel Pipe. He's got some sch.40 pipe right now on liquid lines 1-1/2" and smaller. Was this acceptable in the 1974 B31.5 code?
Thanks
