Hello guys. I want to perform topology optimization using the SIMP density based model to create a custom torque sensor (which deflects linearly and i read the angular deflection when i apply a torque - in other words, a flat torsional spring) that exhibits a known stiffness 900Nm/rad when a torque of 100Nm is applied on its centre with outer inner boundaries fixed

I want to keep the maximum deflection at any given point in this spring less than what the elastic strain limit of the material allows so that deformation stays in the elastic region. I also want to keep the maximum stress at any point in the elastic region (under yield strength)

My questions are
1) how do i find the maximum displacement for any given material (lets use steel E = 200 GPa ) to serve as my ceiling when the torque is applied ?

2) i have an objective of minimising compliance and volume. But what should be my minimum number of constraints for a problem like this?

3) how does minimizing strain energy come into play for this?

4) I want to break applied torque 100Nm into force vectors to use in formula disp (u) = Fl/AE. to find maximum displacement if this is the right approach for a problem like this

5) i wanna use ansys to get my output design. If someone has an idea of what steps i have to follow to set up my topology optimization problem there it would be great
