Hi

Was just wondering if anyone has heard of the problem solving methodology that is TRIZ (in the UK anyway).

May be worth looking into a training course for this sort of idea generating problem solving work??

Would like to hear if anyone has revolutionised their R&D as a result of the investment in the course...

Engineering companies tend to hire inventive people, so it's unclear what the benefits of TRIZ for those companies. People in development activities tend to use parts of TRIZ in their normal, everyday, activities. At best, TRIZ might trigger an avenue that might have otherwise been missed or ignored, so at best, we're talking a fractional improvement, as opposed to a major improvement.

What TRIZ does is to codify all the physically possible ways that a problem could be approached. So, a non-engineer with a good science background would probably get the biggest benefit from this.
