Based on the manufacturer and description, does anyone know what this item would be used for? Is this a good price?

It is a 4 pole manual transfer switch. Looks rather compact for a 200A, but then again the picture does not have any relative item in the photo to compare with.

It can be used to manually select beetween two source to feed a load. You mention one your question's title.

Why would u ask the question? What are you looking for? Why ask for this particular item?

that is some kind of drum switch but I would be reluctant to call that a generator transfer switch without some additional packaging and close checking of the ratings.

1) those switches can be ordered 'break before make' or 'make before break' and that needs to be specific for you application. Make before break would require the generator to parallel normal power, not typical for a small unit.

2) the max current rating is probably not achievable at the max voltage rating.

3) it would need some enclosure and check UL listings specific for the application.

We have recieved similar switches packaged in enclosures as UPS external maintenance bypass switches and if proper for the application they are amazingly compact and capable.

I think its a control switch for a transfer switch or for the control of breakers in a tranfer scheme. That is not a transfer switch.
