APET Heat Stability

Can you help me understand the temperature limitation of APET? Specifically, why is it that APET-packaged foods can be heated in a microwave only, when CPET-packaged foods are heated in either a household bake oven or microwave? Does economics drive the growing preference for APET over CPET in food packaging?
