Hi,

I am new to API 2000, and to the petroleum world in general.

I was asked to verify the dimensions of a free vent allready installed, but I do not have any calculations.

Is the Coefficient of Discharge Method, equation (4B) the right way to follow?

What should I follow to be able to determine if the installed vent is the right one.

Please help me out...

I would first search "API 2000" on this site or failing that post the question in either storage tank or relief valve forum. This forum is a bit of a back water and you might not get much response.

Try doing a calculation and posting the data and results and asking people if it's correct.

Remember - More details = better answers
Also: If you get a response it's polite to respond to it.

API 2000 requires that the vent be calibrated by the manufacturer and be provided with curves that document the flow vs the pressure differential across the vent. I'm not sure if there is any way out of this. Best read API 2000...
