API 5L & Carbon Steel positive material identification

Gentlemen

I´m trying to implement a positive material identification program on existing old piping systems. Does anyone know if it is possible to sort between A53GrB, API5L X42 and A516Gr70 relying only on portable spectrometry?

Your input will be greatly appreciated

I understand that normal PMI instrument cannot be used for classification. You should check with the supplier of PMI instrument.
