API-650 Calculation of welds on nozzles

Hi,
we are designing tanks with API-650. To calculate the nozzles, we used Appendix P, and we designed welds between nozzles, shell and reinforcing pad, following Fig.3-4B.
§3.7.2.7. gives allowable stress for these welds, but without method to calculate them. I don't find anything in API-650 about it. Some people said to me that there is a method in Asme VIII - UG.41.
What method do you use usually to calculate these welds ?

You may wish to take a look at API-620. They have sample calculations for shell nozzles that are applicable to API Standards. ASME VIII is very similar, but varies in the details from the API Standards.
