From what i can understand all Group 1 Materials (A36)
Can be used down to a design metal tempeture of -12'C for 6mm plate thickness and -7'C for 12.5mm plate thickness. Without Impact Testing. (As per Figure 2.1.)
As per section 7.2.2 Impact testing of weld metal (Vertical Joints), shall include tests of weld metal and HAZ (for semi-auto welding) for a design temp of materials below 10'C.
Desgin Tempeture for my applicable tanks is 0-80'C.
(10mm-6mm shells)
Does this mean Impact testing of weld metal for vertical joint qualification need to be taken out?
Any contributions much appreciated.
