Hi all - im having a bit of trouble determining whether a tank built to api 650 requires reinforcement plates to be magnetic particle tested. i note that pneumatic testing is required however apart from the distinction of the material, i can find no requirement for MT testing on the welds for re pads?
Am I correct?
Thanks

Suggest you look a bit harder.
Took not even 2 minutes to open API 650 and locate the answer to your question.

scuse me for breathing. not overly familiar with 650 but found it anyway.

I think to avoid reinforcements you can use cast nozzles with thicker thickness welded to tank shell plates with a butt weld avoiding the nozzle reinforcement.
