API 653 training and exam study tips?

Hello,
I am taking the API 653 inspector exam training course next month (as there was budget money this fiscal year) but can't take the exam til next September. I realize this may involve studying new codes and stds for next exam if any versions change in next few months. However now I am just asking for any general study tips re the course and exam, so I can get the most out of it and (hopefully) be able to pass exam...I have experience with tank farms in general, but not much with tank inspection.

I'd highly recommend the course run by CodeWest. Check out their website

The course is very intensive, but designed to ensure that you pass the exam. I travelled a long way to do the course but was suitably impressed. They provide many example exam questions, many of which you could continue to study after the course, and even brush up on in the weeks leading up to the exam.
I hope this is the type of course you are going to take next month.

I concur with the advice of our Kiwi friend. Codewest offers and excellent exam prep course. The guy that runs Codewest is a bit cranky, so be sure to talk to the lady in the office. Her name is Joy. Their number in Houston is 281.394.4540.

I work for a territorial gov't (we do petroleum supply and storage for remote communities) in Canada. However it is almost impossible to go to a course out of country, (ie the States) ... I know of no one who has.. The CASTI course is in the next province and even that requires special approval from our Department's Deputy Minister.

Your lucky day! CASTI is the Canadian representative for the Codewest courses. They have an API-653 exam prep class in late February in Edmonton. I think they do it twice a year.

Yup that is the one, late February. Didn't realize it is the same course as Codewest
