Hello everyone,

In tables 2 to 6 of the code the end-to-end dimension for butt-welding valves in different ratings and sizes are indicated,

The question is:

Are this values mandatory?
Does a valve that hace a different end-to-end dimension is off code?

I'll really apretiate your comments,

The best way to figure out if the values are mandatory is to read the standard. Section 7.4 is titled "Face-to-face and End-to-end Dimensions," so that's probably a good place to look. It says "Unless otherwise agreed," the face-to-face and end-to-end dimensions shall be in accordance with the tables. So if your customer agrees to a different length, then you can make that length and it will still be to code. Note that 7.4 also requires you to mark the face-to-face or end-to-end dimension on the nameplate if it is different from the tables. As well, the current edition is the 24th edition (which was published August 2014); you may be working to an old edition if you are still referring to tables 2 to 6 for end dimensions.
