API Certified Threads

Does anyone have any guidance on how a machine shop could become a certified machine shop by API.

We are in the middle of Africa where there are currently no certified machine shops and very little information to pull from on how to go about becoming certified. We are in particular targeting thread cutting on drill string which is currently being sent thousands of kilometers to get threads cut and then returned

Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

While you are at it you might want to explore other threads: Hydril and Grant Prideco have various licenced thread forms that are being used on more and more drill strings, especially in the larger sizes (6-5/8" pipe and above) or in the smaller sizes (4" and below, where API NC connections don't perform so well....
