App 2 Flg Calcs - min g1 value?

I am doing App 2 flg calcs for a slip on flange with no hub. I can deal with h=0, and I know that factors FL and VL and f are fixed when g0 = g1. But what value do I use for g1? Is there a minimum value that I am missing when I read the code section? This value is used to determine the flange stresses, and it can't be zero.

Thanks in advance for any help.

treemkr, see Fig. 2.4 (for loose type flanges), it should guide you in this. These values may be based on the weld dimensions, it depends on your configuration. See also 2-7(b).

Regrds,

Mike

If the slip-on ring is designed as a loose flange [fig. 2-4(3a), or (4a)], then h=0, go=0 and g1=0. If the slip-on ring is designed as an integral flange [fig 2-4 (7), (8), (9), (10), or (11)] then go=tn, g1=(tn + weld leg), h=weld leg.

For loose type flanges without a hub, SR=0, SH=0. See 2-7(b).
