Application of motor in the automative?

I'd like to know the application of motor in the automative or in the future vehicle and which type of motor is often used? DC motor, Brushless DC or AC induction motor? Would you please tell me where I can get an example or futher infomation?

Pesently the trend is to use DC motor for hybrid bus vehicle. IIT Delhi has recently completed the project of developing Eicher motors India 18 seater bus with DC motor(30 kW). Now they are going ahead with 90kW D C motor to be used in bus developed by Tata Engineering & Locomotive Ltd., Pune, India.
