Apply BC at a midpoint? 1

I'm pretty new to Abaqus so I apologize if this is a pretty trivial question. I have a 2D rectangular beam that needs to have 3 supports on one end. The two supports at the corners are straight forward, but I need a pin BC between the two other connections. Right now it only allows for the BC to be applied to the entire face instead of just a single point. So how do I get a pinned connection at that midpoint? I tried simply drawing a line right across the middle of the beam but when I tried to finish the part it said it had to be closed and marked the intersection of this newly created line and the two sides of the beam (again, I'm new to this so I'm not sure why that new line suddenly doesn't make it closed). So I'm not quite sure how to specify that midpoint on a solid bar for the BC.

I definitely see what you're saying, but I can't seem to define a node on a free surface, it only lets me specify nodes at the corners. Is there a special way to get a node right between the two corners?

Ah, nevermind. My original mesh was too coarse so it didn't actually allow for a node in the middle. I got it now. Thank you!
