Applying Displacement Constraint 1

I'm having difficulty in defining a displacement/velocity constraint on a part. I want this particular part to be stationary from time = 0 to time =.005 seconds; then, the part would rotate and move axially based on a certain spring force. Can anyone please give me suggestions?

Fit a fixed joint. At t=0.005 deactivate the joint.

Thanks for your valuable advice. I don't know how to deactivate a fixed joint after a certain time interval. If you could give me more details on this, that will be very much appreciated.

Well, I'm sure the help files will help. I don't have ADAMS on this computer. I think the command is DEACTIVATE
