Applying simple decals

Morning all...
I'm getting better with Unigraphics at work, and I wouldn't mind doing a couple of personal bits and bobs with it.

First job on the list is designing my campervan interior- and if possible, I'd like to apply a wood texture to a few of the surfaces (so I can view it as it'll actually look, do screen dumps etc).

I'm testing this out on a simple block (new sketch in task, draw sq, extrude) just to try out the process.

At the moment i'm doing-

View->visualisation-decal

select object (face)

choose image file (usually go for a nice bit of wood from the ugstudio folder)

anchor type- center

specify origin, vector and normal vector seems to already be selected

scaling method- face size

then OK.

Now I go to rendering style-studio. My decal is on the face I've selected, but it's pretty small. I'd like it to stretch to fill the face- is there a way of doing this, or do I need to work out the size of the face, make a JPG or similar of the texture, and do it again?

One other bit- how do I delete a decal once it's on? It'd be good to be able to go back to square one if I don't like something.

update- after trying a couple of times, now I have no decals at all when I select studio view.

If there are any studio tutorials out there, that'd be great- I can't find any.

Many questions at the same time :)

Your decal will exist as a "feature" in the tab named "Materials in Part" under the name you specified when creating the decal. ( Bottom tab in the resource bar.)

Normally the origin point for a bitmap / mapped material etc is top-left corner. Move the origin point to this top-left and it should fill the face.

The decal / Material is assigned to either faces or bodies, If you click the Materials/ Textures button in the Visualize Shape toolbar, it will contain a button "Show usage", depending on if Bodies or faces is active in the selection bar it will report and highlight.
Also if you RMB- Edit the material/ Decal in the "Materials in Part", it will highlight the faces it's applied to.
You can Shift-Click the faces/ bodies when the Edit dialog is open.

In the "Materials in Part", there is a "None" material which you can apply to completely remove the material assignment.

A "Decal" is a simplified method to define what otherwise is called a "Material"
