If its brick or masonry I'd say a good proportion of the load may strut around the opening.

Is the lintel the yellow arch you drew? If so I believe it would be simplest/conservative approach to simply evaluate the height of the wall supported by your curved member and apply that as a load vertically, any strutting action simply makes this approach quite conservative in my view. For a house it often boils down to making things as simple as you can, easy to design = better use of your fee.
 
If the wall is a bearing wall for the roof above, make sure you include the loads from that.
 
What you have is an arch, the beam will go into compression more than it will bend. The roman's could figure it out, so can you mate! go back to first principles
