I am designing a project in which an archival storage room needs specialized air conditioning. The curator is asking that the room be maintained at 68 F +/- 2 F and at 45% RH +/- 2%. We have chilled water in the building (24/7). Supply temp= 45 F. Plotting the room condition on the psych chart, one would get a dew point that is nearly equal to the water temp. I'm worried that we won't have any dehumidification happening.
There is practically no load in the room. I calculated it to be 1 ton. I am afraid that if i pick a Liebert-type DX unit, the compressors will cycle to death. Does anyone have any suggestions on what kind of system to use? DX with SCR reheat? lower temp water from a modular chiller?
