Hi all,
We ll upgrade crude onshore production facilities to handle 100,000 bbl ,50% Water cut
If we have submarine pipeline 40 km whiche is the feed line to plant and some of parts of this line is 24” and 12” at the end point( which is the inlet of separator)
The question is: need to change this line or not?

The 24" would normally be too large for that flow, but that is better than too small. The rest depends on the length of the 12". The 12" might be OK for pressure loss although the velocity might be too high. If your surge calculations check out and you can tolerate the usual high potential erosion from fast flow of produced fluids, it might be OK.

You might have a look at replacing the 12" with 16".
