Area seismic classification in Canada (Kelowna, BC)

My firm is searching for the seismic classification for some preliminary order of Mag on an industrial site located in Kelowna British Columbia Canada

That information is contained in the National Building Code (NBC) for Canada Appendix C Za=1, Zv=1, Zonal velocity ratio=0.05.

I strongly suggest that you contact a BC based structural designer to review these loadings for you as the treatment of earthquake loads is spelled out in the NBC. There may also be a BC code that has different requirements. Check out for more information.

RDK is correct. The BC building Code lists Za as 1 Zv as1 and v=0.05
