We have a chemical injection package wherein vendor has used the Armaflex non metallic insulation as Metal jacketting can't be used due to the small size of piping and lots of curves inside the piping.
But as per NORSOK R-004, nonmettalic insulation is allowed but should meet certain criteria with respect to the toxicity of the gases when there is a fire and when the insulation burns and emits smoke.
What we could see from the MSDS of this armaflex insulation, there is Lead compound of 0.8% and i believe this is not agreeable.
Thanks to confirm whether any of such insualation materials are used in such applications.
