Array of cuts?

Here is what I would like to do. I have a fairly simple assembly but it does get quite large. It goes anywhere from 96" to 40' long. The longest material we have is 10'. I would like to make an assembly and have an array of cuts or slices that can cut the long piece into several smaller pieces that we can actually make.
Can you cut a piece in an assembly and get two or more unique pieces derived from that? I am using sheet metal parts but am open to other methods such as a lofted surface.

You should try to emulate the real world manufacturing/fabrication methods when creating parts & assemblies. Model a 10' part & have four instances of it in an assy, rather than cut a 40' part into four pieces, and then have to "stick" them back together.

That's not going to work. They would need to be four unique parts. Sometimes two, sometimes three. I suppose I will have to constrain them to planes and supress them and unsupress them as needed.

Have you used configurations & Design Tables? That may help you set your model up to work the way you need.
