Hi,

6 month ago i started collecting process design related articles in such magazines as: Chemical Engineering, Chemical Engineering Progress, Hydrocarbon Processing namely. It may seem useless for some engineers (some colleagues think so...) but to me, it is a good way to keep track on the last methods available and also, sometimes understand concepts in a easier and quicker way than reading handbooks.

So i would like to know if you would have "must have" articles in the area of fluid flow, heat transfer, separations, and other process design related articles that you could recommend? I repeat, only the very best articles in process design you know please.

Sheiko,
I have several pieces of advice and reccomendations.

First, I am a huge fan of Chemical Engineering Magazine as it is bascially a Practical and Applied ChE magazine. They also periodically publish collections of useful articles in one bound paperback. I have several of theirs on "Rules of Thumb" type things and heat transfer.

This is the one magazine that I archive intact, because you can quickly look at the spines of the magazines for the feature article titles.

I also tear out and collect appropriate articles of interest and file them from numerous other publications.

My advice on this is stay with something that is closely related to your current work or interests. Otherwise your files will get to be too large and you won't end up being able to use them.

For me, I collect articles on ultra high purity processing and vacuum distillation, because these are areas that I work in all the time.

sheik..

I too feel that the information in "Chemical Engineering" is superior to most other publications.

The articles in "Chemical Engineering Progress" magazine are also excellent

"Chemical Engineering" magazine also offers what they call "books" on various topics. These pricey "books" are simply collections of magazine articles on selected subjects.

If you have the money, this is a good place to spend it.

Thanks,

Any "must have" titles, references related to process design to recommend?
