At a number of workplaces I've been employed at, AS2067's Table D1 was used for cable and wire identification, and for substations and generator cubicles it suited the purpose reasonably well. It didn't do much for process plants or factory automation though.
With the revision of AS2067 in 2008, the table has been removed and is no longer available for reference. In at least one workplace, the decision was made to continue the numbering scheme as it was already in place and well established with the equipment already in use.
However, in the absence of such pre-existing equipment, what numbering standards are people using as a replacement now? I'm curious to know as I'd much rather use an established standard that can be followed and isn't specific to a single workplace, but it makes it much harder if the relevant standard is no longer current.
