Hi There,

I was having a read of AS3600 and AS1170.4 and can't seem to find any reference to overstrength specifically for connections. e.g Precast panel designed to mu=2, sp=0.77 and designing the stitch plate connections. What is the industry general go here in Australia and accepted by the building code for designing the connections?

Thanks

Interesting question, I thinkt he code you also need to read is as5216, this forms the basis for most connection design you are referring too in your post I believe, if I don't have this correct please provide more info as to the specific connect you are referring too.

If the connections are brittle (as precast connections often are) then they should be designed for full earthquake loads and not the the ductility reduced loads.
