Hi everyone!

I am designing some steel latticed structures for an electrical substation using ASCE 10-15.

I have some pretty dumb doubt. The specification dosen´t show any load combinations and I can't find any resistance factors neither. It does however mention "Desing-factored loads"in 2.2.

Should LRFD load combinations and AISC resistance factors be used ?(0.9 for compression for example).

I tried designing a stocky column in compression according to ASCE 10-97 in sap2000 and it seems it is not considering any resistance factor (0.9), the required strength is just checked against yielding without any factor, Pc=A*Fy (no 0.9.

There will be other elements in the same project designed with AISC 360-16 so it seems weird applying different resistance fators in different structures.

Thanks!

Section C2.1 Introduction mentioned that your load factors are taken from the IEEE

For resistance factors I stick with AISC 360 unless it is already applied (as per C3.15) or noted otherwise
