I am looking at compress calcs for a vertical vessel. Wind calcs are done per ASCE 7-02.

Compress calculates vessel OD = 3.3958' which is 3" higher than the actual vessel OD of 3.1458'. I guess the extra 3" is to account for nozzle projections, ladder etc. How does compress determine this number 3"? What is the formula?

Also how does it determine n1 which is the building natural frequency also called as fundamental frequency in compress.

No. Vessel is not insulated.
