Good Afternoon Gents.

Noob here. I am mighty confused about this.

Reactions from a building designer were given, in ASD load combinations. According to ACI 318-11, Ultimate Strength is supposed to be used for all concrete design, as per Ch. 9. Am I missing something or should I request that the reactions be in LFRD format?

Hey Leftwow,

If the building designer gave you the breakdown of the reactions(i.e. dead load rxn, live load rxn, etc...) then they will likely tell you that it is on you to appropriately factor the reactions as you need for your design.

If the building designer didn't give you the reaction breakdown, then you will need to request that from them.
