While searching the ASHRAE website to purchase the 2001 ASHRAE 90.1 Standard I noticed that they offer a User's Manual as well. Is anyone familiar with this manual? Is the entire standard repeated within the manual? The Manual is over double the size of the Standard and if all information is provided in greater depth it may not be necessary to purchase both. If anyone could offer some helpful advice it would surely be appreciated.

Thanks

the users manual is basically the standard written in non-building code language. it does provide a more indepth look at the standard and includes a lot of examples and interpretations. i personally have and use both and would recommend getting both.
