Let me preface this question with the full knowledge that it is broad and yet not meant to be exclusive for all cases. There appears to be many ASHRAE standards in place for the design of new or existing buildings. Some apply for minimum energy efficiency ASHRAE 90.1-89, others for indoor air quality ASHRAE 62, and yet others for :
ASHRAE Guideline 13, Specifying Direct Digital Control Systems
ANSI/ASHRAE 15, Safety Code for Refrigeration Systems
ANSI/ASHRAE 34, Number Designation and Safety Classification of Refrigerants
ANSI/ASHRAE 35, Method of Testing Desiccants for Refrigerant Drying
ANSI/ASHRAE 62, Ventilation for Acceptable Indoor Air Quality*
ANSI/ASHRAE/IESNA 90.1, Energy Standard for Buildings, Except Low-Rise Residential Buildings
ANSI/ASHRAE 90.2, Energy Efficient Design of New Low-Rise Residential Buildings
ANSI/ASHRAE 126, Methods of Testing HVAC Air Ducts
ANSI/ASHRAE 135, BACnet® - A Data Communication Protocol for Building Automation and Control Networks
My question is simple: Are the above standards the most important ones I should focus on staying current in relation to my occupation as an engineer designing commerical and industrial facilities?
Thanks and anyone that would like to give their opinion on the ranking of these important standards will be appreciated also!
