Hello everyone,
May I ask if this symbol is a universal symbol for a motor-operated control valve, or is it only used for motor-operated gate valves?

That is usually a motor operated isolation valve, not a control valve.

Depends on your key.

If this is a high level drawing then it could just be a generic isolation valve, but if it's a detail drawing you could have a choice of many, then it's usually a gate valve.

Find your symbol legend sheet.

ISA do a set of symbols but over the years everyone has developed their own little modifications to it....

Motorized ball valve. Usually used for on/off control of liquid flow

That looks like a PFD symbol for any valve type with motor operator, not a P&ID symbol for a specific valve.

MOV can be gate or ball or butterfly type valve with electric on-off actuator. There are variations within each of these types to suit specific applications.
MOVs' are not pneumatic actuator operated valves
