In the 2023 Edition of ASME, Section II, Part A, Mandatory Appendix II, paragraph II-300 was completely rewritten.
For a particular material like SA-335-P91, Type 1 if ordered to a job being designed/built to the 2023 Edition of the Code, Section II, Part Table II-200-1 says that the oldest ASTM Edition is ASTM 2018. Prior to 2023, if a supplier sends in material to the 2017 edition of the code, we would accept this based on paragraph II-300 (of the 2021 Edition).
Is there some other paragraph, such as PG-10 of Section I that can be used to accept older material, older than allowed per Table II-200-1?
Thanks!
