I am looking for an ASME B&PV reference to weld size specifications for a welded plug. I am trying to perform calculations on a steam/water gauge in which a port is plugged. The plug sits down in the recess of the port and is basically attached with a fillet weld. I can find no ASME spec on this particular type of weld. Since the plug is not hollow, I can't use the spec that states that the throat of the weld must be .77*wall thickness of the pipe or tube.
