Hi,
I have a model with the following input:
Code = ASME B31.1
Material Sc = 17100 psi (A106 B)
Weld Joint Eff = 0.65
Just checked the allowable stress indicated in Stresses Extended (Legacy) Report of my CII model.
Stress Allowable = 26307.7 psi (which is equivalent to Sc/eff)
I don't understand why Sc is divided by eff for the computation of allowable.
Shouldn't it be multiplied to make the allowable lesser, since the weld connection is weaker?
