Morning Folks,
The question: When B31.3 states no less than 5% of circumferential butt and miter groove welds shall be examined (ref. ASME B31.3 2014 341.4.1 (b)), it says each welder's work product must be represented (ref. ASME B31.3 2014 341.4.1 (b)). Does this mean 5% of each welder's work product in a lot needs radiography or 5% of the total lot with each welder represented i.e. Stan, and Dirk each produce 40 welds in a lot for a total of 80 welds. Can you x-ray 3 of Stan's welds and only 1 of Dirks, or do you need to x-ray 2 of Stan's and 2 of Dirk's to be compliant?
I have a ton of gray area B31.3 questions but we'll stop here for today!
Thanks
