Hello everyone, I am the newbie on the site and I have a question...Does anyone know where I could find a pre 1999 version of ASME Section II part D. I am doing some inspections and wanting to look at an older Section II if possible. The reason I ask is that I am needing to do remaining life calculations on pressure vessels that were manufactured in the 70's. Needing to make sure the stress(ksi) that I am using is the correct one for the material when it was made then. Thanks

I guess what I am really trying to ask is if we have a 1970 pressure vessel with a 70000 psi tensile (SA 515-70) and at 600F the stress is 19400 ksi. Do we use the 19400 ksi or do we need to know the stress tables from 1970 that they used to design?

nmcummins ; it is not too bad. There are the stress values for Post-2000, which you quoted. And there are the stress values for pre-1999. Those two sets will get you back to the 1960's, if not earlier.

pre-1999; 515-60 is 70 tensile, 36 yield, limited to 650° in Sect VIII. 600° [-20° thru +650°] = 17.5ksi
