Hi everybody,
I'm reviewing a weak link analysis from an old valve manufacturer. The allowable stresses used to compare with the calculated stresses is based on 0.9 yield strength. For the non pressure retaining itema of the valve. According to my criterium i think that i should respect code case.N-62-7 of Asme. This code case refers the allowable stress to section Ii tables 1a and 1b for comparing stresses.
Am i being too much conservative for using this allowables stresses?
