Code: ASME IX
Joint: set-in weld of a nozzle to a shell of pressure vessel
Thickness of nozzle: 8,74mm
Thickness of Shell 19,05mm
Material: both PN°1, Gr.1 or 2
I have a PQR (named A) with t=8,74 to 17,48mm, so I can't use it alone for this joint because 19,05>17,48mm.
Question: may I add another PQR (named B, which I have) with t=16 to 50mm in order to cover the remaining thickness, and use it with A to qualify the weld of this joint?
A+B->A up to 17,48 + B from 17,48 to 19,05mm

Thanks

Yes, assuming all essential and supp. ess. variables are the same. Check out QW-200.2(f)
