We work for an ASME U Stamp Project.

We have ordered pipes from a supplier.

But, the supplier sent us pipes which are manufactured and welded from plates using ISO standard. This is stated in the material certificate.

My question is, can we use these pipes for the ASME U Stamp Project ? Or it shall be welded according to ASME IX also ?

What does ASME code say ?

MAbdo, if your supplier can do one of two things, you may use the pipe as-is:
1) Certify the pipe meets one of the standards listed in UG-44
2) Supply it as a part per UG-11

Otherwise it most likely falls under UG-10 and proving it is suitable is on your organization.

Regards,

Mike

The problem with sloppy work is that the supply FAR EXCEEDS the demand

Further Edit: Forget UG-44, my mistake. The pipe would instead have to meet one of the specifications permitted under Sec II, Part D.
