ASME Sec 8 Div 1: Undefined terms 2

The Code (ASME Sec VIII Div 1) mentions the terms “MAP” and “100% radiography” at multiple instances. For example, MAP is mentioned in clauses UCS-66 (and even “defined” in Fig. UCS-66.2) whereas 100% radiography is mentioned in clause UW-52.

In regards to the above, I have the following two questions:-

1. Since the above two terms viz. “MAP” and “100% radiography” are NOT defined in Appendix 3, are there any FORMAL definitions of the same? If not, is ASME defining the same in some other Section? If not, what is the accepted and followed definitions of these two terms?
2. What is exactly meant by “100% radiography" and how is it differentiated from “Full radiography”?

Your replies will be highly appreciated.

Thanks in advance.

jehan17718;
Full radiography and 100% radiography are considered to be equivalent terms in code language. Unfortunately, you have discovered like others, inconsistencies in code language that has been around for many years.

My interpretation...

Full radiography is RT-1 as per UW-11(a). This will typically include long seams, circ seams, and any Cat.B joints greater than 10" NPS or 1.125" wall thickness.

I have always taken 100% radiography to include ALL butt welds on a vessel including 10" NPS and less. Not uncommon for sour service.
