Typical Bellows Expansion Joints are shown in Figure 26-1-1.
The figure depicts two unreinforced bellow methods.
Method-1 : Internal Bellows Attachment
Method-2 : External Bellows Attachment

As I understood
- In case of internally type : The end pipe attached to both ends of the bellows reinforces the end of the bellows. Therefore, it is more robust against internal pressure.
- In case of externally type : It is easy to repair because the welded part is exposed to the outside.

Could you possibly provide me with any technical suggestions? What is appropriate for each type?

Hikaru001, while there are computational differences between the two attachments it is difficult to say that one is in general advantageous over the other.

For use in shell & tube heat exchangers the external attachment is, I'd say, universally used so as not to unnecessarily obstruct the bundle.
