Hello.

Can someone please clarify the following note that is found in ASME Section I PG-27.4.4.

e = thickness factor for expanded tube ends.

Pg27_hm4dot.png

Some sources online simply state that;
0.04 inches (1mm) is for tubes that are expanded and 0 is for tubes that are strength welded.

Is there anything else that I should consider?

Please be advised that I am having difficult time understanding the wording of the note.

Thank you for your help.
