HI everyone, this is Giuseppe, I need some tips in order to find in ASME VIII div 1(if there is) general tips for dimensions of vessel as well as the projects for their nozzles.
ASME Section VIII, Division 1 is a Safety Code and not a design manual. It is up to the engineer to provide those details - the calculations in the Code will calculate minimum thicknesses and provide minimum safe details.
ccarlles, location & overall dimensions of the various features of the vessel are dictated by mating equipment & piping & the features of the vessel itself. Nozzle projections are often set such that the flange bolting can be removed from the backside, over insulation, if present.
Dimensional tolerances are generally dictated by industry standards such as TEMA (heat exchangers) PIP (process vessels) or client specifications.
