ASME Section VIII div. 1, 1989 edition

Is the requirement mentionned in paragraph UG-41(b) of ASME Section VIII div. 1 2007 was exactly the same in the ASME Section VIII div. 1 1989 edition?

I think it's Section VIII based on header description.

I can only go back 'till 92 edition;- the clause UG-41(b) you mentioned has not been changed since '92 and is still valid, unchanged today in the 2007 edition. I think with some degree of confidence that this clause was also valid in '89. However, you might need a firm confirmation somewhere else...
