ASME VIII-1 2021 APPENDIX 47

hello all

i have a question about design subcontract.
my company is a u stamp holder. and produce pressure vessel but the design is supplied by the other company.
but the 2021 update's seems all the designer/enginner should be employ by my company. that's mean we can't use the other company's design.(because the design documents will show the designer is employ by other company)
so is my point wrong?

Section VIII is silent about who is doing the design from what I have gathered. What MA 47 specifies is what the designing engineer's qualification requirements are.

knstar - your point is wrong. However, it needs to be in your Quality Manual about the qualifications (and how you determine the qualifications) of the designer. How will you demonstrate "responsible charge"?

Who is the certifying engineer who signs of the vessel compliance/manufacturing Data Report?
