Hi all,

we received notification of the mandatory Appendix UHX in ASME VIII, Div. 1, 2003 Addenda. Included in the hardcopy was a piece of paper which advises users to download a white paper from the ASME web site. The addy given is as follows I have typed in the address as shown but am unable to access the document. Can somebody please assist me with an indication of what I am doing wrong/tell me how to find this document. Our company does not subscribe to the ASME web site. Could this be the problem ? Has anyone downloaded the document and would they be willing to forward a copy to me ?
Thank you in advance.
John

johnnymist2003 and others-

I've heard of others also not being able to get to the site. It does seem to fail - but it is working! What they (at the ASME) did is to embed their referenced papers into the document. What you're doing when you go to the web page is downloading a Word document with .pdf's embedded into it. This results in a nearly 5 MB file size. It takes a LONG time to download, even with high speed connections. Click on the address above and go to lunch. It might be done by the time you get back...

Hi all,

thanks to everyone who responded and emailed me. I now have a copy of said document.

I have not downloaded my version but what I know is that you must have purchased the code and the 03 addenda comes with a password to download the file.

Well, I was able to download the file with embedded PDFs (without any passwords) - all open up Ok. I find time to download is reduced if you "right click" with mouse on the file link (above) to bring up Save menu, then save without first opening. Works for me.
