Dear Professionals,
I've seen several inquiries where ASME BPVC VIII U-stamp is asked for valves. I am aware that there is a stamp for relief valves but how about process and isolation valves? To my understanding U-stamp is relevant to general pressure vessels which are designed to ASME VIII but valves are typically designed to B16.34 which may further refer to different BPVC sections where needed. So to my understanding U-stamp is not applicable to process/isolation valves. If I'm correct does anyone know any document or standard which would state this also in writing?
Or... are there really U-stamped valves on the market? If yes, I assume they must be designed to ASME VIII.
Thank you in advance for your valuable advice!
